Pre-Halloween, Heidi Klum Embraces Pumpkin Orange for a Family Night Out

Save this story Save Story Save this story Halloween is practically a national holiday in the Klum household . And while Heidi Klum is keeping the details of her annual, invariably extravagant costume under wraps until October 31, she’s already getting into the spirit of the season. Her latest look? A little pumpkin-orange number for a family night out in New York City.

On Thursday evening, the supermodel celebrated the third anniversary of her Crazy Pizza establishment in New York, bringing along three of her four children: Leni, Henry, and Johan. For the occasion, Klum opted for a gloriously theatrical, tangerine-orange Lever Couture dress that featured sculptural, accordion-pleated ruffles that fell from mini-dress length to an arpeggiated train. She toughened it up with black leather thigh-high boots, kept her blonde hair in loose, tousled waves, and added a dark smoky eye.

Her daughter Leni , meanwhile, went in a decidedly more understated direction. The 22-year-old model chose a plunging black halterneck top and relaxed black trousers, with her long brunette hair worn straight. Henry kept things sporty in a red-and-black zip-up jacket and dark trousers, while Johan opted for a black T-shirt and slouchy gray jeans. A fairly restrained family portrait, then, at least by Klum standards.

But it looks like Leni hasn’t quite inherited her mother’s insatiable appetite for Halloween theatrics just yet.

And there is plenty more theatricality to come. The self-appointed queen of Halloween has been teasing this year’s costume on Instagram, offering tantalizingly grotesque glimpses of what appear to be flesh-like prosthetics, with strange, organic shapes that feel body-horror movie ready. Klum has already promised that her 2026 transformation will be “very, very bloody,” prompting speculation that she could be taking inspiration from The Substance or The Last of Us .

Over the years, Klum has established herself as the undisputed champion of celebrity Halloween dressing , from her enormous, disturbingly realistic earthworm costume in 2022 to her elaborate peacock in 2023, her transformation into E.T. in 2024, and last year’s scaly, snake-haired Medusa . So far, no one has really gone where Heidi Klum is willing to go.

A frothy orange minidress might not require 10 hours in the makeup chair or an army of special-effects artists, but it’s certainly one way to get into the Halloween spirit early. Consider it the palatable appetizer before the disgusting main event.
